ZOLYNIA IMMIGRANTS

	Name of Elias Kupferman in passenger list of S.S. Rhein sailing from Bremen to New York in July 1911. His wife, Malka, and their five children would finally join him in America during December 1920.

On this and continued on the following two pages is a partial list of both Jewish and non-Jewish immigrants from Zolynia who arrived in New York Harbor during the height of European immigration to the United States, 1892-1924. The lists were compiled with the help of the American Family Immigration History Center's online Ellis Island Immigration Database, and with the help of the online Ellis Island database "One-Step" searching tool, developed by Stephen P. Morse and Michael Tobias.

The list is far from complete due to current limitations in the search tools, errors in the database and other factors. Additions are welcome, including those who arrived in American ports other than New York (non-New York arrivals will be marked appropriately).

To help researchers, a liberal interpretation of possible spellings of Zolynia has been used, so the list probably includes some people who are actually from other towns with similar-sounding names. Additional listings for people from smaller villages adjacent to Zolynia are welcomed (in several families, one immigrant might give their former town as "Zolynia" while a sibling sailing at another time might give a more accurate "Rakszawa" or "Brzoza Stadnicka" or "Bialobrzegi"). People with hometowns such as "Paris" or "Antwerp" are on the list because they are known Zoliners who lived for a time in those cities before crossing to New York.
