ZOLYNIA BUSINESS DIRECTORIES

 

Directories published by private firms listed businesses and artisans by township. The Zolynia listing from three directories have been recovered and translated:

   
  Phyllis Kramer compiled over 12,000 names in over 1,000 Galician communities from a photocopy of this directory. These are the names from Zolynia and also from Rakszawa and Brzoza Stadnicka, which were in Zolynia Subdistrict. There is a link to the online Directory database at the JewishGen web site for further searching (the original copies were of poor quality, so check spelling variations).  
     
   
  An alphabetical list of 102 businesses operated in Zolynia. Business category is given (in Polish and English). Thanks to Alexander Sharon for sending photocopies of the Zolynia pages from this directory.  
     
   
 

Thanks to Pawel Brunon Dorman of Warsaw, who posted this entry on his PolishJews.org web site and kindly sent it along. There are 87 businesses listed. Mr. Dorman's translations of occupation names are retained and differ slightly with those in the 1929 listings above.
